effective 17 july 2026 · applies to the android app “AiSoul” (com.aisoul.app)
The short version: aisoul is free software you run on your own device, with your own AI provider keys, at your own direction. There is no account to create and no service we operate on your behalf — so these terms are mostly about being clear on what the app is and isn't responsible for.
By installing or using aisoul (the “app”), you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
aisoul is a local-first personal AI application. It runs entirely on your device and connects only to servers you configure: the AI provider you chose, and optionally your own Google Drive for backup. The developer operates no backend, hosts no user data, and provides software — not an AI service.
Responses in the app are generated by the AI model you configured. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. It is not professional advice — don't rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or other decisions that need a qualified human. You are responsible for how you use and act on AI output. You can report any response to the developer from within the app.
Backup is optional. If you enable it, the app encrypts your data on your device with a passphrase only you know and stores the archive in your own Google Drive. If you forget your passphrase, your backups cannot be recovered by anyone — there is no server-side reset, because there is no server. Your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's own terms; aisoul's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Everything the app stores — your conversations, memories, notes, and widgets — is yours. The developer claims no rights over it and, having no access to it, could not exercise any. The app includes open-source components under their own licenses, listed in the in-app licenses screen; source for busybox (GPL-2.0) is available on request per the written offer at [email protected].
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind — express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Local-first also means you are in charge of your data: keep backups if your harness matters to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including data loss, AI provider charges, or consequences of acting on AI output. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app (which is zero at launch).
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, which deletes all on-device data. The developer may discontinue the app, but because it runs locally with your own keys, installed copies keep working regardless.
If these terms change, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
